“Meridian Medical Solutions has provided exclusive anesthesia services for San Joaquin Community Hospital since 1999 and the AIS Surgicenter since its opening in 2013. Working with an anesthesia team that takes pride in their work and keeps patient safety at the forefront of their care plan while preserving the facility’s bottom line provides peace of mind to me as Director of Surgery. This team really cares about patient outcomes and has developed a team atmosphere within our surgery department. I can rely on the team to expedite first case on-time starts, keep cases moving without delay, complete pre and postoperative evaluations, and communicate openly. Furthermore, the anesthesia team actively participates in our organization’s quality improvement measures (SCIP, OR efficiency, Surgical Site Infection Prevention, CPOE, and electronic documentation for anesthesia providers). It provides ongoing education and training to our staff, working collaboratively with our Perioperative Nurse Educator and Surgical Services Leadership. Since the OR is a major part of the hospital’s financial structure, I know that I can meet or beat my quarterly budget by working with this team. We work together to ensure necessary equipment is available for patient safety. They do not ask for unreasonable equipment or utilize costly medications – unless the patient care plan truly requires it.”
