“As Chairman of the Surgery Department at Delano Regional Medical Center, I was experiencing firsthand the result of a dysfunctional anesthesia team. These issues included: unnecessary case cancelations, delayed starts due to not properly running the surgery board, and an unwillingness of anesthesia providers to take cases after 3 pm. I’ve benefited from working with Meridian Medical Solutions at Sierra View District Hospital, and I am thrilled by the quality of care each member provides. However, due to disgruntled providers from the outgoing group, there was an immediate need for coverage beginning on 10 February.
